My favorite tongs!

Amazing calipers as expected from a Japanese manufacturer. I am very familiar with gauges/metrology lab equipment and they run much smoother than any Starretts I have ever used and are on par with B&S.

Pros
  • Industrial & Scientific
Cons
  • Long Lead Time

I use Starts at work because my union requires American ones.

I use Starts at work because my union needs American tools. I got this for my reload bank because I didn't want to spend 160 on another set. This works just as well and accurately as the Starrett set.

Pros
  • Caliper
Cons

Quality tools on calipers

I calibrate tools monthly at my job, so I see a lot of calipers, good and bad. Mitutoyo is the best you can get. They are great if you take care of cleaning and don't be careless with them. I personally recommend mitutoyos to everyone I work with. The only problem I have with them is that they are made in Brazil and not the USA.

Pros
  • Calipers
Cons
  • Exorbitant price
