Hard plastic in heel rest

While they seem to go well with regular Waverider models, there is a hard plastic protrusion on the heel tab at the top back for some reason. One of my boots has a rib that sticks out more than the other and it blistered and cracked my skin after my second run. I'm not sure if this is a manufacturing defect or a design flaw. But I've had Waveriders since the 15 model and none of them had a rigid heel ridge support. That is beyond me and very disappointing, because otherwise the shoe seems to be

The Best Wave Rider I've Ever Owned

The Wave Rider 22, also known as the WAVEKNIT R2, is an incredible running shoe in a neutral colorway. There's no hint of pinching anywhere on the upper thanks to the knitted design. The upper is also well ventilated, but not overly so. The cushioning is great. Definitely one of the softest yet most textured dampers I've experienced in a Wave Rider and I've been riding them in and out for over 10 years. The outsole has good dry traction on all surfaces from textured to smooth, so I expect them…

  • Stylish and Modern Design

  • Weak Set

Knitting sucks - I want a regular Waverider

I've been running marathons in Waveriders for many years. I didn't know it was a knitted version when I bought it and I don't like it. The toe box feels a little squarer, so I developed a sore spot on the top of my 4th toe on a 4 mile run. At my normal 22 years, that's not a problem. The ride seems normal, but I also have a few hot spots on the soles, which is probably because the knitted upper is stretchy enough to allow my feet to move more in them. I will not buy again. Very disappointed…
