This raid corps just doesn't work

Trying to build this raid corps took 4 hours of my life. The accessories are simple, looks aesthetically pleasing on the table. It's a bit noisy with two 10GB Seagate Iron Wolf NAS drives. I could forgive the noise if only it worked properly. I was struggling to get Raid 1 to work but it just didn't work. The box unexpectedly disconnected from Windows, Win10 gave an error message about a problem with the Mobius device. and so it went on and on until I realized that this wasn't a very good use…

Pros
  • Stable test results
Cons
  • I can't remember but there was something

Very solid feel, excellent performance.

Having tried many other options that are much brighter than these (colored LED lights, transparent walls, etc.) and brought them all back for various reasons, this seems solid right away. The exterior is not classy, reminds me more of the alms boxes in the church (not exactly yeah, but close), but so far I like this box very much. I loaded it up with a pair of Seagate IronWolf 8TB (RAID 1) and it was all set up and up and running in under 5 minutes, literally under 5 minutes! When it was done…

Pros
  • Sturdy finish
Cons
  • Legacy model

Fits directly into existing Intel RAID sets!

I originally ordered this unit when my workstation motherboard burned out to format a couple of rebuilt internal drives from a mirrored RAID set I was using and easily restore from a separate online backup . When I put these drives into a small Mobius 2C (already configured for RAID1) instead, the existing partition mounted without issue. Fiction! Let's see how it holds up over the long term, but the stock is up. I know USB-C will be a bit slower than the onboard SATA RAID, but it's fast enough

Pros
  • Cool product
Cons
  • There are new competitors

Excellent. Compared to 2 others.

Paid $140, good deal. I tried Vantec and QNAP before settling on this one. This natively passes the SMART attributes of BOTH drives to the OS, so using CrystalDiskInfo will show both drives even if you are using a RAID 1 mirror. They will show up with the same drive letter. Wonderful. That's exactly what I wanted. The build quality is excellent. A well known brand starting with QN was plastic and flimsy and cost more. Both Vantec and QNAP use the JMicron chipset, which many people have major…

Pros
  • Good deal
Cons
  • Good mostly, but...

Great new 2 drive enclosure from the already solid Mobius range

This is my 4th Mobius purchase, I have three 5-bay RAID enclosures (the 'old' design with an integrated RAID) and need that slightly less for two 4TB drives. I have not used the built in RAID feature on this unit but have never had a problem with it on other models. Highlights include USB 3.1 Gen 2 (10Gb/s) ports and SATA III drive connection performance, fairly quiet (quiet fan hum, but I don't hear any drive activity like I do with other cases and docks), and an integrated no-hassle disk…

Pros
  • Pleasant
Cons
  • Good but not great

EXCELLENT enclosure suitable for hard drives. Accessories

Purchased in preparation for upgrading from Mac Pro to the new Mac mini. Initially, I had some trouble getting my discs to read at all. Steve emailed tech support the next day and we were able to figure out that it had something to do with the USB 3 stick I had plugged into my Mac Pro. After we moved the port everything seemed fine. The Mac mini arrived last week and the case worked from the second it was plugged in. The speeds are amazing, the built in hub is a nice bonus as nowadays…

Pros
  • Easy-to-read control panel
Cons
  • Electrical outlet required

Fixed initial problem

I bought this application to use as individual drives, not in RAID 0/1. I use Ironwolf 4TB NAS drives. The case seems to work, apart from the very sluggish performance, the read/write speeds are around 37 MB/s and 39 MB/s respectively. The case connects to my 2019 iMac (3.7GHz i5 processor, 40GB RAM) and directly to my Mac via USB-c. Not sure what the problem is, but definitely not what I expected from a USB-C device. I have another external Dual Drive Enclosure (OWC) with similar drives (4TB…

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Minor issues

I am using two 14TB WD drives in a RAID0 configuration. As you can see from the CrystalDiskMark results (see the first image), the sequential read speed is 423.6 MB/s and the sequential write speed is 426.9 MB/s, which is excellent. The same drive in a standard WD USB3 enclosure only achieves 140.4 MB/s reading and 133.9 MB/s writing (see second image). Pros: - High performance, near-linear scaling for RAID0 - No need to remove 3.3V pins, WD drives are recognized instantly - Case build quality…
