Brass on this light is a decent colour, aluminum not too gold to taste, looks like a decent fake for restoration obviously at a fraction of the cost. Good color light, brightens up our entire hallway but doesn't blind you when you walk up the stairs from below. It is also a subtle brass color for original old brass lamps in the same house.

As others have said, remember that the spectrum of light is closer to daylight. This is not warm LED lighting or bright LED lighting. Depending on the color of your walls, you can get a blue cast from the light. In my case, the whole room is painted light yellow, so that doesn't change much.
