Description of Pure Tung Oil - 32 Fl Oz | Waterproof, Natural Wood Finish & Sealer by Hope's

Easy to Use - Tung oil is a natural oil recognized by craftsmen to offer the ultimate hand-rubbed finish for all fine woods; just wipe on and allow the oil to cure at room temperature. Permeates - Unlike other finishes that form a film on the wood’s surface, tung oil penetrates deep into the wood fibers, cures to a flexible non-oily solid, and becomes part of the wood itself. Protects - Resistant to moisture, alcohol, oil, and everyday wear for lasting beauty and protection; lasts many times longer than mineral oil and wax based products. Multi Use - Amazing results on almost any surface that will allow the oil to penetrate - new unfinished wood, weathered wood, stripped wood, concrete floors and countertops, even brick, stone, and cast iron. Great for Food Contact Surfaces - Since tung oil is considered non-toxic when dry, it is great for cutting boards, butcher blocks, countertops, wooden bowls, wooden utensils, and more. 100% Pure Tung Oil- Hope's Tung Oil is the “best of the best” pure Tung oil grades. We only use premium oil, pressed from the best Tung nut crops from growers around the world. Why Hope's? #1 Best Selling Brand, Recognized Experts, 50 year USA based company that stands by it's product.

Don't Buy Anything Else

We first tried the cheap version from Home Depot, which disappointed us because we didn't realize it wasn't pure tung oil. Used it on wood countertops we installed last year. Follow the directions on the bottle, making sure to buff the wood between coats until completely dry and allowing a full 12 hours between coats. We didn't need to dilute the oil at all, but we did hand sand lightly between the first coats to smooth out the texture. Don't skimp on the oil, coat the surface and let it sit…

Pros
  • PROTECTS - Resists moisture, alcohol, oil and everyday wear and tear for long-lasting beauty and protection; lasts many times longer than products based on mineral oil and paraffin
Cons
  • The list is long.

Very pure in household chemicals

Firstly, I have never used PURE Tung Oil. I have used mixes either diluted or mixed with nail polish and have really enjoyed these products. To be clear, I'm in the middle of a project with this product right now, but my first thoughts are: 1. Because it's pure tung oil, it doesn't spread as easily as other formulas. The consistency is very similar to syrup, but not sticky. It spreads and I found the woven fabric accommodates it well and makes it easy to pull on each layer. I don't like the…

Pros
  • 100% pure tung oil. Hope Tung Oil is the "best of the best" pure tung oil. We only use premium oil from the finest tung nut harvests from growers around the world.

Hope Tung Oil works great

My house has over solid virgin pine floors laid over a century ago. The floors used to be treated with tung oil and I keep the tradition going. Polyurethane is too shiny for a historic home. Because the coating is oily, it can be cleaned with water, but not with an oil-dissolving detergent. I oiled her ten years ago. Various well-meaning cleaners have occasionally used Murphy's Oil soap or other cleaning agents over the years and the finish has had to be restored. I washed the floor thoroughly…

Pros
  • Multi-purpose - amazing results on almost any surface the oil can penetrate - new bare wood, aged wood, aged wood, concrete floors and countertops, even brick, stone and cast iron
Cons
  • Available in white only
