After about 4-5 months of use the corner started to crack and eventually broke off. Then a piece broke off one of the edges and somehow a tiny piece of plastic splintered off, giving me a nasty splinter. A new crack has now formed on the edge near the broken corner. Otherwise it would be a decent case. Update 8/19/19: The seller sent a replacement case, so I'm changing my rating from 1 to 3. I'll see how the replacement case holds up. Less than a month later it's already falling apart. A small piece of plastic near the side switches has broken off from underneath. It's still attached at the top, but now it has a sharp edge. Updated 11/14/2016. It broke again in exactly the same spot as before. So I give up. I'll use it until the edges get too sharp and then throw it away. I have an iPad case with a keyboard, very useful but heavy. For my recent international trip I used this lightweight cover and it worked well. It protects my iPad and can also be used as a stand. I've only had it for about a month so I don't know how strong and durable it will be in the long run. Now that I'm back from a long trip I'm putting that aside and using the keyboard version.

At first I liked this suitcase because it is light and stylish. I've had other similar types before and never had any problems. I chose black because the lid doesn't get dirty that easily. I use my iPad every day for activities and I take very good care of it because I need an iPad for everyday use. Ordered two of these cases. With light adult use, 1 of 2 lids have both hinged corners of the lid cracked and are now breaking off. Insurance coverage is not covered by the 30 day return policy. The second identical case is fine, so I don't know if this is an isolated issue. The cases were only used for a month and a half. There have been no falls or other incidents leading to cracks, just normal use.
