Description of Monoprice Ribbon Tweeter Bookshelf Speakers

Ribbon Tweeter: Ribbon tweeters are able to produce an extended frequency response with much lower distortion than traditional designs. With this tweeter design you get exceptional high frequency response, lower distortion, and greater clarity. Style: While Monoprice believes in function over form, there is nothing wrong with having speakers that look good, too. The simple yet elegant appearance of the brushed black finish is complemented by the black woofer cone and tweeter dome. A removable black cloth speaker grill is included. Versatile: These speakers sound big enough to be used as the main left/right speakers, yet are small enough to be used as satellite speakers in a 5.1 channel or more speaker system. Perfect for the office, bedroom, or mid-sized living rooms, they feature spring clip speaker terminals for easy set up and installation. Ribbon tweeter | 6.5" Polypropylene cone woofer. 30 watts RMS, 60 watts maximum | 6 ohms impedance.

One of the best sounding bookshelf speakers - at any price

When comparing these speakers it's good to know what they are and aren't. They don't feed themselves, so the quality of your amp is very important. I feed them an analog tube amp and audio output from a dedicated external DAC. This setting reduces noise and crosstalk, and the DAC provides a high-quality initial output before the amplifier. These speakers have exceptionally neutral sound and can use some tweaking and still play them well. Even in the 2.0 configuration, these speakers can still…

Versus. Dayton B652 Air

I wanted to compare them directly with the Dayon B652-AIR. Both have custom tweeters and both sell for under $100, both are designed for low to medium volume listening. All of the above points should be considered with this in mind. The Monoprice speaker is all about Twitter. The ribbon tweeters are very, VERY powerful in the mid to high range - 8kHz - 12kHz, with a sharp roll off around 17kHz and narrowing to zero around 20kHz where the more expensive true aluminum ribbons are the ones…

Specifications These speakers are designed to have a frequency range of 60Hz to 20kHz but after checking the frequency response they could be heard from 55Hz to 17kHz. Each has a 6.5" woofer and 4" ribbon tweeter and weighs 6 pounds, making them a good choice if you plan to wall mount them. rear bracket. They are for 6 ohms, 60 watts, max 30W RMS. Sensitivity is 87dB at 1 watt at 1 meter which means they are very efficient and produce quite a bit of sound with relatively little power. Tweeks So

Dear Reader, Please excuse my long and chaotic review. For the layman reading this, you will find useful information in this review, just scroll through the material that is overly technical. I bought the Monoprice MP-65RT out of curiosity if it would do better than the Dayton B652-AIR as it sells for around the same $50 depending on when and where you buy it and it's about a sealed box of the same size with a 6.5-inch woofer and non-traditional tweeter. In my opinion, the Monoprice MP-65RT…
