That does not work. Bad support

I contacted tech support and found that Power Pass Through was not working. Told me to contact a separate department at Monoprice for a replacement. Contacted this unit, he was transferred to Revane. So: defective product, lousy product support

The charging function does not work at all.

The charging function does NOT work. The USB function works. HDMI function - not tested. i give it back Prospective customers, don't bet on your luck like me.

Poor engineering causes USB port to fail

This product was not a reliable accessory. The adapter worked initially, but the USB port stopped working after a few weeks. An Apple keyboard and mouse connected to the USB port cannot wake up your MacBook from sleep. After using the built-in trackpad to wake up the laptop, it takes about 5 seconds for the USB port to read the keyboard and mouse again, delaying password entry. Badly designed. Bought for a 2016 Macbook to use USB, HDMI and charge at the same time.

Another great adapter Monoprice: works as advertised, connects multiple drives and HDTV

I bought this to connect TWO USB 3.0 hard drives to my Chromebook and transfer files. It worked great. I also connected an Anker SD card reader with both SDHC and microSDHC and both were recognized and enabled for read and write access. Charging via this dongle works as advertised. By plugging the dongle's HDMI port into my HDTV, ChromeOS immediately recognized and used the additional display. Much better than wireless screen sharing (for mirroring).

Works with my Galaxy 21

Works with my phone, charging is a bit slow so it's not the best option when I'm having a busy day, but I just plug the fast charger straight into the phone and charge it up like this when he is busy. Hooked it up to the "Revain Basics" USB hub I had laying around, then a keyboard and mouse to it and it works great. I will buy more for home.

fire hazard. Began to melt and burned me.

This proved to be a fire hazard. Plugged it into my Pixel laptop's USB-C port, plugged in a 45W USB charger for passthrough charging, and after a few minutes the plastic started to melt. It felt boiling hot and burned my finger. I was surprised that Monoprice products are usually of high quality. Will return and ask for a refund. view photos

Works great with Dell Precision 3520

I discovered this after trying my luck with one of the many other random brand adapters on Revain. My mistake is not knowing that so many 5 star reviews are completely fake. Back on topic, I'm using this with a Dell Precision 3520 and it works great. Combined with a small 4-port USB hub, this is ideal for switching your mouse, keyboard, headset, camera and monitor between computers with just one connection.
