It takes a decent load to work properly and the lid mount is underpowered.

A 3/4" x 36" x 18" sheet of wood is not enough for the hinges to work properly and for the lid to stay open until you push it down. The attachment to the lid is plastic and additional force required to close the lid will dislodge the screws from the plastic lid retainer. We had to add washers to the screws to keep them from falling apart.

Easy to install, works as it should

Bought for a toy suitcase I am converting for my 15 month old son. Easy to install, appreciated for two-way flexibility, and does exactly what it says on the tin - hold the lid up until told to lower, then very slowly close it. maybe 5lbs and takes quite a while to close (and all the other options on the market are tricky to install).

Easy installation and very slow closing

This slow closing lid stay is very easy to install. Simply place the card in a corner where it will be visible and drill holes. Attach the base, then the mechanism. Attach your hand to the lid at the location indicated in the instructions and you're done. It was mounted on a 3/4" thick plywood toy box lid. The 20" x 24" lid closes very slowly so you don't have to worry about little fingers getting stuck in the lid. I highly recommend this product Will definitely be using them again over future…

Morinbo Helpful Video - Find out the weight of your lid, adjust the lid at a 90 degree angle

I found the visual installation video very helpful. The only guidance in the box is on the card for properly aligning the screws. It was a fresh install so I was able to properly weigh the lid before installing. The lid weighed 28 pounds. before painting, so I bought two 13-16 lb hinges (one for each side).
