Firstly, the reason for keeping the star. There appears to be a scratch (mostly superficial, not deep) and a few stains on the cymbals - although they were nicely wrapped in plastic. I wanted to like it and thought I would based on previous reviews but for my hair I'm not thrilled with this straightener. I am really impressed with this Morroccanoil hair straightener. I'm a little obsessed with expensive hair tools and beauty products. So it's not always easy to impress me. It has an LED screen to show the temperature and bars to show when it's hot. It changes from 200F to 450F in increments of 10. There are 3 knobs on the inside just below the panels.
