Description of πŸ”§ Motion Pro Tappet Oil Filter Screw Plug Tool - Model 08-0339

O ring design retains the tool in wrench or socket. Flange design allows downward force to be applied to tool. Can be used without removing exhaust pipes on most bikes. Designed for use with 7/16 inches combination wrench to allow for maximum rotation without touching engine cases. Tappets should be serviced every oil change.

Cheap filter, costly mistake

When I tried this cheap filter, it seemed like a great deal. However, after using it for a few weeks, my motorcycle started making strange noises. Turns out the filter was not effective in keeping the tappets clean and I had to spend even more money fixing my bike.

Pros
  • Pro: affordable
Cons
  • Con: ineffective at cleaning tappets

Works well, it's more due to poor fork design.

I'm not sure if my connector was too tight but this tool didn't really work. It was difficult to keep it plugged in and rotated, and I think you're going to have trouble with any typography tool like this. I ended up using a chisel and a hammer on the side to loosen it. This is probably more of a Harley design issue than an issue with this thing. I've used it with another fork that was looser and it worked fine. I would have preferred a hex plug which I think they make and it would be easier to

Pros
  • Can be used on most bikes without removing the exhaust pipes
