Enhance Your Cabin Air Quality with Motorcraft FP-68 Air Filter Review

This is a replacement Ford cabin air filter for my 2019 Explorer. An exact replacement for the factory filter and at a reasonable price. Getting the glove box locking pins back is no easy task, but it has nothing to do with the filter and how it fits into the HVAC case.

This is an original factory part but does not work well. The long sides are foam and they compress when you try to slide the filter into the case meaning it's very difficult to get all the way in. Instead, I recommend the ATP FA-18 Premium Activated Carbon Cabin Filter. It has much stiffer sides which makes boarding much easier. In addition, it has an activated carbon filter for odors.

We changed the air filter after buying a new/used car on Craigslist and it definitely needed changing! We've already been there to replace the blended door operator and the air filter that came out was nasty - all brown and black! We have a 2011 Ford Flex and when we first bought it we only needed a few things. It was worth it. The item came quickly and was exactly what we needed.

Not sure if this is authentic but does the job. My last cabin air filter hadn't been changed in at least 60,000 miles and it smelled very dusty. After replacing it with this one, I noticed a BIG DIFFERENCE in the power of the A/C and cooling. I recommend using it. No smell of dust either! As far as I know, it needs to be changed every 10-15 thousand km. It wasn't on the packaging, but I found this information on the internet.

I love buying Motorcraft because God and Ford designed it. But seriously, my previous cabin air filter was probably never changed when I bought the car (5 years, 90,000 miles). It looked like someone dumped real clods of earth and leaves on top of the old one. It took 5 minutes to replace (and that takes into account how long it took to figure out where and how to replace it). Simple solution and big difference.

Filter OK. Nothing fancy, this is a true Motorcraft replacement for Ford and Lincoln cars. I noticed that the "airflow ^ (directional arrow)" label is missing from the side of the factory installed filter, although it doesn't appear to have any direction - more likely to ensure it's reinstalled in the correct orientation when you should reinstall it after removal for a quick visual inspection.
