Essential for a day at the track

I bought this product to use with the Ram steerer mount on my Yamaha R1. I actually wanted it for my first day of trekking as I wanted to tie my camera to my bike. It was so easy to just use the ball mount with the existing Ram mount and attach the GoPro to it. You have a clear view of the instrument cluster and a full field of vision ahead of the track. Very happy with the purchase. Very easy installation.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Protection

Good idea but no forward angle

We were hoping to use a GoPro mount to build a front facing camera in our car with a RAM mount on the windshield but unfortunately we were able to we don't The corners can't work without the actual suction cup mount blocking most of the viewable area. If you want an integrated RAM camera mount for your GoPro, this accessory is perfect for you. If you're trying to mount your GoPro to the outside, this little mount won't work.

Pros
  • Great for a small house
Cons
  • No instructions

Not suitable for mounting on a GoPro case.

It's amazing that Ram mounts can sell a GoPro adapter that doesn't fit a GoPro. I've used ram mounts on my plane for a while and have enough confidence in their quality that if one of them breaks I'll take a nasty hit to the prop as I fly in a pusher configuration. But that's outside of me. Really bad technique, the middle pin is too thin. Even if you could mount it, you would squeeze that plastic pin as you tighten the screw to squeeze it around the GoPro body mount.

RAM quality I expected

Only gave 4 stars so far because I haven't used it with my GoPro. I'll update once I actually use it. Works with my other RAM mounts with no problems. Quality product, like all my other RAM mount products. Contrary to previous reviews, my adapter came with a swivel nut with the same thread as the official GoPro thumbscrews. You don't need to carry a screwdriver to swap out GoPro parts. Looks like RAM listened to customers and changed the design. Also included were two screws which can be seen…

Works well, solid.

As other reviews have mentioned the nuts and bolts that come with it could go straight into the trash. Too small and they make no sense. It's as if the engineers designed this after playing phone tags and never had a pro to test it. That's fine, but you'd think they could slightly change the shape to fix the problem. It's probably too expensive to justify your time. However, it works great if you borrow a nut and bolt from your other Go Pro stuff. And once it's installed, you obviously forget…

Works well, solid.

As mentioned in other reviews, the included nuts and bolts could go straight into the bin. Too small and they make no sense. It's like the engineers designed this after playing phone tags and never had a pro to test it. The molded nut on the plastic mount is too large to fit the Go Pro's OEM nut snugly. That's fine, but you'd think they could slightly change the shape to fix the problem. It's probably too expensive to justify your time. However, it works great if you borrow a nut and bolt from…

Great mount for gopro.

In my opinion, RAM mounts are one of the best solutions for mounting almost anything, especially GoPro mounts. I like the ability to securely mount the GoPro. to my Harley Davidson and making sure it doesn't fall or roll down the freeway so I can take great photos of our rides without getting distracted from driving, traffic and everything around me. I have multiple RAM mounts and recently bought a second Gopro and found I needed my second Gopro Hero adapter. FYI, if you're unfamiliar with RAM…

Good RAM mount as usual

I need about 100 different types of RAM mount components to mount cameras on different vehicles. This is for my new GoPro Hero 4 Silver action camera and I am using it to mount my camera on an airplane. Like all RAM products, it is very durable and fits perfectly. My only wish is that RAM provide a nut in the box that fits the GoPro grip. RAM supplies a black nylon locknut and Phillips head screw with the adapter. The lock nut fits into the corresponding hex slot on one side of the adapter and…

Do you call it hardware? For real?

To be honest I'm a bit disappointed with the memory of this device. I have several of their products and am happy with them. But the included hardware is a joke. Even if you wanted to save money and just include a regular nut and bolt, why not supply at least one that matches the size of the hole? The one they give us is too small and allows for free panning, not to mention it takes a screwdriver to get enough torque to hold it. And indeed, if they wanted to claim GoPro compatibility, the M5x.8
