Great eco solution

I ordered this kit to go a long time without water after a burst winter pipe. There was no way to wash the cutlery and cheap disposable plastic utensils didn't stand out. Surprisingly, months later (still in temporary housing), they survived many meals and trips to the dishwasher. They're more substantial than most, and the design is clean and sculptural. I only broke one part, which is very different from the usual standard plastic paraphernalia. The parts are strong enough for reasonable use…

Pros
  • One year trial
Cons
  • Only available in white

Compostable – single-use plates, bowls and cutlery

Calling them compostable is a bit misleading. I went to the company's website to see how long it took for them to decompose after disposal and it said they could be composted at an industrial composting facility. In my area I would have to deliver them myself to the nearest composting plant. While they're still better than plastic, I wouldn't call them "compostable" without adding the note (like they did with "recyclable" in the description) that you would also need a factory to compost them…

Pros
  • Lots of positive vibes
Cons
  • No productivity

Worth the price. Here in Pennsylvania, 2 days after the COVID-19 lockdown went into effect, my oil burner stopped working, leaving me and my two Chihuahuas (Damian and Percy) without heat/hot water. And since handymen aren't allowed into our homes, I can't fix it until security restrictions are lifted. My neighbor is a "main worker". And we have keys to each other's houses. So that I can shower there when she works. And nearby laundries are important businesses but still need to boil water to…

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Big and bulky

"Compostable " is good for forks

Pros
  • Paper and plastic
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly
