Best Pie Crust Shield

I gave my daughter my original Mrs. Anderson sign many years ago after the adjustable sign went in the trash and she used it in her house for Thanksgiving this year . It's easy to use and does a great job of protecting the crust of this 9-inch pumpkin pie. I bought another one. It's cheap and just works. because these cakes take so long to bake No more fiddling with falling aluminum foil!

Works great! for cake pans

This is an amazing kitchen tool. I used two cans of cherry filling and two ready made pie crusts in a 9.5 inch Pyrex glass jar. The top has been brushed with a SMALL amount of milk, don't use too much, just lightly dampen it with a brush and then sprinkle sugar on top, sprinkle ONLY. If you use too much of it, it will leave burn marks on the top of the cake (lesson learned). Baked at 425°C for 35 minutes. Leave the protective film on from start to finish. . I read many reviews before buying that the cake bases were too small. Considering my glass pans have a wider rim, I went with 10 inch screens. They are perfect for my cakes. I have Pyrex tartlets that list size 9.5", 24cm. The measurements shown in the photo are outside edge to outside edge, my tart tops are 10.25" wide, the inside diameter is approx. 9.5" Some people have complained about the screens discoloring after being washed in the dishwasher; I wash by hand.
