This is a 2 piece product. The former is ideal for gently removing the stem/pit from strawberries without losing the fruit. The second element cuts strawberries. Just like an egg slicer, it is easy to use and cuts strawberries into perfect and even slices.

The peeler deserves 1-2 stars and the slicer 4-5 stars. I tried using a vegetable peeler to remove the stem and leaves from the strawberries. I think it's bad design because I quickly got frustrated and gave up after about 3 strawberries - the scoop is too wide and too shallow. It's much easier to use a carving knife for this process and it's quicker. My wife loves the slicer - it's quick and easy to use, and the sliced ones are very elegant compared to serving whole strawberries.

You need it! We planted a strawberry patch a few years ago and loved all the fresh berries, but home grown berries are smaller than store bought ones and it was difficult to cut them all up in time for things like pancakes.
