I've blown into open fires for years. Most of the time it helped. Ash was ALWAYS scattered everywhere. Now I can direct my breath to just the right spot without blowing ash off the surrounding piles. Works perfectly.

They work, but not very efficiently. If you try to suck on the blocked end, you will feel leakage through all of the telescope's hinges. The container is a bit big so could be made more compact. Worked as a Christmas present.

We bought these as stocking stuffers for our boys and gave one to my husband's dad. These are great tools to use when starting a fire. You blow into the larger end and the air comes out concentrated in a small area, helping to create a better flame. A suitcase for storage is also useful.

That's a great idea. I have a copper pipe that I use to make a fire. They are compact and easily fit in an emergency bag. In an emergency, being able to keep food warm and cook will be very important, and such a small tool will definitely help. There are 4 of these so you can carry them in your hiking bags, your car and anywhere you have emergency gear. Great for hiking!

The plastic case it comes in is useless for anything other than transport but it does the job. In any case, they're much better kept in the can with your lighter. Significantly speeds up firing once you know how to use it. The quality is similar or the same as the original FureBellows design. Also get 3 of these for the price of one of the original FireBellows brands so there are no real downsides.

If you never want to draw a face full of smoke from a fire. These simple straws are worth their weight. Of course, they relieve irritation and do not save lives. Solutions to first world problems and so on. But I love the plastic containers that help you find those little helpers when you throw away your bag of bugs to start survival training starting with Flint N Steel Fire ;-)

They work as they should. The only problem is the plastic container, they break easily and the lid falls in your pocket. The cap has a cut-out for a lanyard or carabiner, but I would advise against it, especially off-road, as you are more likely to lose it in dense undergrowth or on a hiking trail.
