I do not recommend this one. Our child calms down at this sound, but the positives end there. Cons: The device is designed to spin in circles from one setting to another. The one we got doesn't turn round, it twitches at every point and makes a loud noise. The portable vacuum was purchased with the information that the box was broken. But when we received it we found that the product does not work as there is no cover that presses on the batteries and closes the battery compartment and the screw that holds it. This information and drawing can be found on page 7 of the device manual. So this device is absolutely useless as it doesn't work. I bought it because it was supposed to go shhh and it was way cheaper than rabble. I should have just bought a rabble, the whisper on it doesn't sound like a human voice, it's very mechanical. Where the sound is coming from it's concave so it directs the sound in one direction so it's great when your baby is crying you can put it in his ear and it's really loud and when he calms down you can just twist away, and it's not that intense.
