MYPET North States 38 1 Essential Review

This goal is fantastic! We've been using the old wood style for a long time and I finally got tired of pacing back and forth to go from room to room. These goals are easy to assemble and very strong! What I love most is that we didn't have to drill any holes in the wall! The only tools I used were scissors and a tape measure! Check!

Very easy to install and none of my kids have managed to break or knock it over yet! I love that my curious little ones don't have anything to climb on. The rails only go up, not across, which is a great feature. I also like that it opens both ways, but you have the option to only open it one way. Great price, great product.

I love this gate! We use it to keep our dog in a certain space when left alone. Assembly was absolutely a two man job, and even then we struggled a bit until we got the hang of it. We didn't use any screws as we will end up moving the gate and it will stay in place in perfect order. Do check the tension rods though as they seem to have loosened up a bit after a while and hand tightening doesn't fix anything. We used an extension cord and it still works like a dream.

I bought two of these gates to keep my sister's dogs out of the living room when she comes to visit. They look beautiful in doors and seem very sturdy. Although I had problems with the instructions. I couldn't figure out what they were telling me from the paper instructions. I ended up on YouTube and quickly found a video showing a woman assembling it and I was able to do it. Incredibly easy to install. I bought 2 after reading each review here for a different one. I liked the solid metal construction and the ease of use. The small leg at the bottom of the gate can be folded down on either side to allow the gate to swing the way you want it. I have used the extension on one and it was very easy to put together. Directions and photos were good. I don't have aggressive dogs so I didn't have to screw it to the wall, I just used the sewing feet. The handle will not lock

During assembly I had a hard time removing a couple of the end caps to attach the extensions. One in particular required a lot of extra effort, and I really scraped the crap out in the end. I contacted North States to tell them about my problem and they quickly advised me and offered to send me new hats and if I can't take them off they refund/send me new ones. Good bumper guard that keeps our stairs safe from pets. I also bought wall washers to hold the gate up better. They were from a different manufacturer and were purchased at the same time as the gate. I could do without them but they are a little bit grippier than the ones that came with the gate. I love the expansions that came with the gate as I needed both. *Update* I've had this gate open for about 2 months now and my almost 2 year old aggressive boy literally pushed and pulled this gate very hard and it stayed in place! Excellent quality and durability! We only mounted it with pressure and WITHOUT screws. So far, so good. My friend had no problem installing and assembling the gate, it looks like it will hold up pretty well but time will tell and I can't rate its durability yet as I've only had it a few hours have. These gates are pretty good until you reach the top end of the range with a few extra sections, they start to wobble a bit due to the play each section adds . If you want to save some money, don't strictly follow the size chart. The last opening I need to make is 53.2 inches. Their table lists the gate plus their 4-bar and 2 2-bar extensions. 4 bar and 2 bar extensions are similar in price: 23 for 2 bar and 28 for 4 bar.
