Ideal 32oz Nalgene Bottle Isolator

This bottle stopper covers and insulates the entire bottle. It fits in a 32 ounce Nalgene bottle with a narrow neck. The top cover fastens with a zipper. This means your bottle is completely sealed. In other words, insulation is better. The exterior is made of durable synthetic nylon. The inside is lined with foil. Your drink will stay hot or cold for hours. This bottle stopper is attractive and good quality. Consider your needs. If you need maximum insulation, this is your choice. For…

Pros
  • Slim design
Cons
  • Interval

This insulating sleeve is designed for cold and frosty weather. So I can't understand why they squeaked at the zipper. In cold weather, the zipper becomes brittle and breaks. It is also difficult to open the case when it contains sand, snow or ice getting into the zipper. Also, I found that I had to add another layer - a wool sock - or the sleeve wouldn't insulate properly. An inner monolayer material that reflects thermal radiation can be useful for conditions like the vacuum of space, but is…

  • Everything is fine!

Lanyard came loose on first use

When I first took this bottle cage on a day trip, I used a carabiner to attach it to my waist belt (using the lanyard) and by the end of the day the lanyard came loose loop at one end. It also has a velcro strap on the side but I find it too cumbersome to undo when I want to take my pack off or have a drink so I won't be using this bottle insulator again. Another downside is in Maine when it's very cold our water bottles freeze even in insulators so we carry them upside down so the lid/hole…

Worth the money but not a great product.

July 2020 Update: I used this regularly (1-2 times a week) for about 6 years before the zipper completely failed. Previously, the outer material had worn out and the small silicone grip (or whatever) on the carrying strap broke after about 3 years. I upgraded 3-4 stars for the duration. If the cap and band were a better fit it would be 5. I've already ordered a new one to replace the broken one. First rating: OK. Not cool. Not good. This cools the bottle down a bit. A bonus that I didn't think…

Ok not great it works

I got the blue Nalgene neoprene case at the same time and will wear both but in my opinion neither is outstanding. This one is thinner and less insulated than I expected but seems to work decently. Lexan/Tritan quart bottles are a little slow to insert or remove depending on perspiration or bottle moisture, but polyester bottles slide more easily. It is good when the lid is closed. However, this lid forces you to squeeze the plastic loop to close the lid. There are a few molded dimples on the…

Pros
  • Heavy duty finish
Cons
  • Some minor issues

I reviewed many insulated bottle cages before buying 2 of them for my Nalgene 32 wide neck polyethylene this. ounce water bottle. Most of my friends have media from Outdoor Research. After reading many reviews stating that the latest productions of OR isolated holders are not as good as their original ones, I decided to give them a try. I live in Colorado and camp at high altitude in the winter. I've never had a problem with freezing water, but at -10F skiing I've had ice flakes floating…

Keeps water ice cold for a long time on a hot day

I bought this to replace one of two that we seem to have lost. Luckily the one I had to sew on to a small carry strap (not the big handle) that broke was lost. Another reviewer said they ordered a second one here and it's not the same as the first and not as well made. I'm pretty sure I ordered our first two when Nalgene first introduced them and directly from them and the one I ordered here in July 2019 is exactly the same and fine. I fill the bottles to the brim with ice and then fill them…

Preventing Water from Freezing at Mount Washington, New Hampshire!

Very simple design that stands up to winter conditions. I attached the stretcher to the hip belt of the backpack. There is a sufficiently long strap for you to thread the waist belt through. There is also a small loop that I attached a carabiner to and attached to my backpack. I did three hikes in temperatures below 20 degrees. One day it got much colder because of the cold wind. My water is not frozen. My travel companion left her Nalgene outside and the water was partially frozen so she…
