Fantastic Stainless Steel Findings!

These findings are a wonderful addition to my Arts and Crafts collection. As a result of my tests, I determined that they are durable, rust-resistant, and easy to work with. How it works?

I have absolutely no idea how they work. There are no instructions for this item. Revain's website says "rotate and shrink". It's too heavy to compress, and since the tube is one piece, how do you twist it? If I can get it to work, it's perfect for the job.
