This tool works as advertised. This makes it easier to push the caliper pistons back into the caliper. My only criticism is that the small magnet attached to the tool to hold the adapter has come loose which has resulted in me breaking the brake to fix the tool by gluing the magnet back in place have. The tool can be used without a magnet, but without it it's easy to keep the adapter from falling out. However - worth the money asked.

I bought a Ford Fusion for work from my wife's friends. Worked but it really was a worthwhile tool, the metal plate to adjust and hold didn't match the caliper so I just applied some pressure while turning the cylinder. it is like that, but did the job. Good for a DIY enthusiast, but I would recommend a higher quality set for a workshop or someone who works on vehicles frequently.

The T-handle was attached at both ends making it impossible to thread the plunger assembly through the plate. I used a 1/4" drill bit to remove one of the ends of the T-handle. I then used a fat Phillips head screwdriver that just went through the hole (it gave more leverage and was more convenient) to turn the screw part. I bought this to replace the rear brake pads on a Jetta estate. The pads were worn almost to the wear limit. The tool appears to be made from relatively heavy materials, possibly to allow the use of softer materials or to avoid heat treatment costs. In any case, the tool barely fit on one side and not on the other. If your brakes have not yet reached their wear limit, they will probably work just fine. Based on the grit of the metal I'm pretty sure this whole set is injection molded. There is nothing wrong with this as it is becoming more common, particularly in power tool gearboxes and other applications where the complexity of the various components means extremely expensive machining. To be completely honest, the metal doesn't look or feel particularly strong, but be aware that this tool is only intended to be used for pushing/tightening the caliper pistons.
