DLNA is great for Netgear

I tried several different routers when I switched to AC. I use 2 as a bridge for my network. Netgear was the easiest. It just worked. I set up one router with my wired internet and another as a bridge. I also have a 3rd old Netgear as a bridge. Netgear's work as a bridge is simple and it just works. Other routers seem to be having IP issues or delaying setting up as a bridge. I tried 2 ASUS and although they had more customizable options than Netgear, DLNA was a disaster, slow to boot and scan.

Pros
  • Four high performance external antennas and Beamforming+ for maximum range
Cons
  • Requires outlet

1 year ownership: high speeds and frustration.

I am writing this review after owning the product for 13 months. It offered fast Wi-Fi and wired speeds, as well as a long range (completely covering my 2,000-square-foot two-story house). The initial setup was also quick and easy. Shortly after setup, some, but not all, of my devices (wired and wireless) started having internet connection issues. Simply turning the router on and off solved the problem. every time. This happened about once a week for the first few months, and it wasn't so…

Pros
  • Two USB 3.0 and eSATA ports for external storage
Cons
  • Unusable features

Very good after a few hurdles in setting up

Fast, easy to use, very efficient router, great for gamers and media connected home population, you have wireless devices that can use what the router is capable of. It's a 1.7Gbps quad lane router at 5GHz, and it certainly did in my testing. FIRST - I was sent version 2 of this router which uses different firmware than version 1 which had so many complaints. Don't mix them up, it's easy to do this on the Netgears website when updating the firmware. I've had the router for 3 days and have had…
