Terrible performance in mixed mode (<1Mbps)

I bought this product to use with an Orinoco Gold 802.11b laptop board and a new 802.11g bridge to bridge it with my to connect LAN. From the start (with firmware built in) and through 5 different firmware revisions (including the latest version 4.1.11 released on 06/24/2004) this unit has had serious problems when running in mixed mode (both B and G) worked. Customers). The G-Client works reasonably well at around 75% link quality at 15 feet, but the B-Client suffers from poor transfer rates…

Garbage - Netgear, you ruined everything!

you lost my voice. If there was ever a product that should "deserve" zero stars in this rating system, wow, we ever had a winner. I wasted too many important minutes of my time troubleshooting this product. I will never buy Netgear again. I switched to a Linksys Cisco WRT54GL and I'm not looking back. I haven't had to load this box in six weeks! Hey, that already beat Netgear's record by six weeks! This Netgear required a constant reboot. I'd been missing VoIP calls, losing connection to all…

Netgear WGT624 Quick and Easy

This was my first attempt at wireless technology for home computing and I was pleasantly surprised. Here is my detailed review: Pros -1. Easy installation. It took me about 15 minutes to set up the router using the setup wizard.2. Great price - less than $50 after discount. That's hard to beat, especially if you're buying a 108Mbps PCI or PCMCIA card. Otherwise the price is comparable to other 54Mbps routers.3. Amazing security features. The router has MAC address control, WPA and NAT+SPI…

Some issues but nothing serious

I recently bought a laptop and needed to connect to a wireless network. I saw 108 Mbps and checked the routers. I read some positive reviews and bought it. It automatically detects the presence of new firmware and installs it. At least some advice. do not do that. I ran into some issues and Netgear tech support said to disable this feature. Setting up the router is quite easy. If you have your WAN settings ready, you should be able to connect them to the network without any problems. It took a…

Nice simple router

I've had this device for a few months now and it works almost perfectly. It's not a full-featured device, but I don't think you can expect it for the price - it has basic wireless and WAN security, nothing fancy. However, for a home user, this should be enough to keep your network relatively secure. In terms of WiFi, it offers TKIP security, which is nice. Since 802.11 security is a nightmare anyway, it's the best thing you can do with minimal effort. On the WAN side, a basic firewall provides…

The product works great, I recommend it to most users

Installing my wireless router and WG311T card wasn't easy at all. However, if you strictly follow their instructions and do everything right, you will be very satisfied with this product. I'm giving 4 stars because I encountered a very serious error with my Trend Micro Internet Security. I accidentally turned on the firewall for this program while the router was running. It ended up messing up my firewalls so much that I couldn't even access my internet with a direct connection from my Comcast…
