It does not fit me! in my opinion

I've always liked New Balance but this one disappoints! The back collar cuts into the Achilles tendon and after 2 days I couldn't wear it anymore. I am back!

Pros
  • Beautiful and durable sneakers
Cons
  • Shoes may not have enough grip on slippery surfaces.

support, no more pain

I love these shoes. Healing and pain in the foot are gone. Can be worn all day. Exchange about every 3 months. I wear a hole in my toe (I have to rub/stand weird?) I'm a nurse and on my feet all day then back home to family/pets so I hardly walk from 6am to 9pm sit. . I wish there were more colors in the XW but I'll go for what I can for now.

Pros
  • Very comfortable, perfect pair, my feet are very wide, they fit me perfectly
Cons
  • Fresh Foam technology may not be for everyone.

Lightweight and ideal for long walks

These are my husband's heavy rotation shoes. He judges everything by the weight (or lack thereof) and the comfort of the shoe. If he doesn't like the shoes, he simply doesn't wear them, he wears them every day. The sole is flexible and soft, comfortable after many kilometers of walking. They are light and true to size.

Pros
  • Easy to put on thanks to the rounded heel.
Cons
  • Shoes may not be suitable for people with knee pain.

Not the same quality as before

I have purchased 19 pairs of New Balance Men's 1080's since March 2017. In the last 2 years the quality has defiantly deteriorated. On the last pair I bought (April 2020) the fabric started fraying as it healed within 2-3 weeks. I'm tracking usage with my Garmin after 81 miles of walking and 145 miles of biking so I can't get to 400 miles to get my new shoe on target. The "cushion" of the shoe has also deteriorated. I think it's time to switch brands again.

Pros
  • Dear comfort and support
Cons
  • Shoes may not provide adequate arch support for people with high arches.

Great looks but trauma deep down

I only ran twice because of the cold morning. The first run was only two miles and I could feel the difference in the shoes. Although the shoes felt softer, they caused discomfort in the feet. The second run was 4 km long. At the end of my run I was in pain on the climb. As the day progresses, the pain intensifies so much that walking becomes painful. I checked my return date and it was one day later than my return date. The shoes look great but I can't walk in these shoes.

Pros
  • I can't get my husband to stop wearing them. He thinks he has no other shoes.
Cons
  • They were great shoes, but too short!

prescribed by the orthopedist

I had problems with Morton's neuroma and plantar fasciitis. The shoes were perfect both for these conditions and for training.

Pros
  • The shoes are very comfortable. I raise my finger
Cons
  • Shoes may be too narrow for people with wider feet.

Poor quality: my rating

A hole formed on my left shoe after less than 2 months of use. Totally unsatisfied with the quality. Hoping for a replacement or refund.

Pros
  • I bought these to replace an existing pair of shoes of the same type. They fit perfectly.
Cons
  • The shoes are not waterproof and therefore unsuitable for rainy weather.

Great shoe for cushioning.

This is my second pair of the same shoes. I won't walk or walk in anything else. The only request is that I would like to see more padding around the ankle but the shoe still works well.

Pros
  • Finally found great running shoes. Once they're worn down for running, they're great for kicking.
Cons
  • The sniker is damaged, one is bigger than the other and the other is a big pad on the left side, okay bad stuff.

Tons of cushioning!

One of the most comfortable running shoes I've ever had. Excellent cushioning. Not as much arch support as my Brooks Ghost.

Pros
  • Very happy with it. This is my second pair.
Cons
  • Shoes may not be suitable for people with lower back pain.

Old version is better

The fabric of the sock wore out after a few months. The New Balance 1080 are great shoes and I've had a lot of them. It was recommended to me by my physical therapist. It was version 9 (v9). Get the older version with toe straps for more durability.

Pros
  • Nice landing!
Cons
  • Shoes may not be breathable enough, causing your feet to sweat.

Only what I wanted is good for me

These are great shoes. It fits perfectly and is very light. I put in special insoles which are a little thick and this makes the heel a little low, but what are you going to do? The only thing I don't really like is that the laces are stretchy. This problem is easily solved with new laces. I wanted very soft soles for walking on hard surfaces. The soles are very "soft" and just what I wanted.

Pros
  • Good fit with great support.
Cons
  • Shoes may not provide adequate cushioning for those with a larger build.

Chinese counterfeits – beware!

These are not genuine New Balance shoes. The label says "Made in China". UPDATE: Contacted New Balance and they have confirmed that the 1080s are not made in the USA. They have provided the following information for verification: Here are a few things to look out for when buying genuine New Balance shoes: Our boxes have a label on the side with the model name, size, color code and bar code. The label on the tongue matches the labels on the box and all labels on the shoes. Our New Balance logo…

Pros
  • Pleasantly cozy
Cons
  • Shoes may not be suitable for people with hip pain.

Return as soon as a small defect is found.

I had to return this item. One shoe had a large crease at the tip of the toe. Also, the rubber tip has moved a bit away from the shoe.

Pros
  • Excelente compra, comodas y buena calidad
Cons
  • 2 correct shoes sent .... really!

I should have had a V8!

I've worn the NB 1080 for many years, but this model doesn't suit me. I never had a heel blister until I got it. I've been told (from a very well informed source) that 60% of the people who get these 1080v9s will rub a blister. I returned mine and got v8. Don't take v9.

Pros
  • Very comfortable and very stylish.
Cons
  • The gunmetal/outerspace color combination may not be for everyone.

Still going strong in 2021

I've had them for several years now and they are still in great condition. I don't remember having another shoe that lasted this long without losing comfort or breaking. I also think the V9 is better than any other model released since, both in looks and in performance. They are definitely worth buying and I'm considering buying another pair just so they know how good they really are.

Pros
  • Great shoes. Go for size. Well done. Fast loading. I can highly recommend the shoes.
Cons
  • Shoes may not be suitable for people with deformed toes.

Extremely comfortable shoes

I like this. I have back pain so I haven't walked in them much but for general outdoor activities etc they are great. Super comfortable. Very attractive.

Pros
  • Comfortable shoes, you almost forget you're wearing them.
Cons
  • Shoes may not fit properly and cause discomfort.

The best running shoes!

I ordered a 4E - love the fit, the back of the shoe allows the heel to slide in and out great - and it's durable - where I have others that might break there is a stronger material. Impressively!

Pros
  • Usually wear an 8.5. I had to go half a size bigger. Very comfortable fit.
Cons
  • Shoes may not be strong enough for long runs.

Great sneakers: my rating

These shoes fit as expected and are ideal for those with very wide feet as they come in 2E. They are very comfortable. Thanks for attention!

Pros
  • as expected Exactly as pictured!. Thanks
Cons
  • Shoes may not be appropriate for off-road running.

Buy shoes half a size bigger. nice shoes.

Nice shoe but a little smaller, need to break this in so I can walk, I had 1080v7, it's perfect for me right out of the box. Thanks for attention.

Pros
  • Casual wear... Although it is an old model of shoe, the price was a reasonable purchase for me.
Cons
  • Shoes may not be suitable for people with Achilles tendonitis.

Great neutral shoes

Great shoes, I've been wearing 1080 for a while now, they're getting better and better, the shoes are a little lighter on top with more cushioning and the healing of the shoe is much easier to put on and take off and very comfortable, it seems like it wraps around the ankle a little more, there are gray and black and white, I look forward to the release of new colors

Pros
  • Great construction
Cons
  • A little wrinkled
