Covered 1/2 inch gap well with good sealing.

I had a 32" wide door so I had to trim the 36" edge of the door but it was very easy with metal snips. I would recommend purchasing #10 pan head screws instead of the included 5/8" pan head screws as these screws require a special square head wrench and appear short. Don't over tighten as the plastic strip needs to have some slack at the top to allow the white cap to slide over the guide. Once the lid started to lift, I used a rubber mallet to gently push the lid along the rail, loosening each…

Pros
  • Adjusts to 7/8" for a perfect fit
Cons
  • Only available in white

Good product but screw guard needs work

I just installed one of these 36 inch latches/seals on my front door. I opened the door, removed the old brush (it was just self-locking on the bottom of the door) and fully seated the new brush. He hit the block of wood at the end with a hammer and advanced to the end. My door is 36 inches overall width so I didn't have to trim. The brush is completely on top of the door, but the gasket is just right. After installing the four screws, I began to put on the protective shield. It was a problem…

Pros
  • Includes screw cover and set screws
Cons
  • Not sure

Doesn't cover gaps.

If you need a little extra to keep out drafts or fill a small gap, this product could be a good investment. I needed something to cover the middle gap so I cannot recommend this product. It didn't work for me and installing it caused some headaches. I installed this door closer under my front door. It was a pretty easy process. The height in the description corresponded, the width corresponded, the installation was successful except for putting on a cover. Small deformations caused by screwing…

Pros
  • External drip tray keeps water out of inlet
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks
