Last year I rediscovered Nexxus products and I really like most of them. This one, not so much. I liked the idea that it was sulfate free to protect my color. I thought it would be gentle and moisturizing. (I've used Nexxus Emergencee Shampoo and it's very moisturizing.) It just streaks my hair. Even if I wash it, it immediately turns into a tangle and looks undressed. I have a hard time getting my fingers through when trying to wash it off. I really can't comment on its ability to retain color

I paid $160 for a professional red balayage. Look at the photos. Exactly 10 days after using this shampoo with room temperature water, my color was completely gone! All that's left is where my hair was bleached lighter. The shampoo is thick and gel-like, doesn't rinse my hair well and leaves this nasty residue that makes my top third of my hair weigh down and greasy after about 12 hours! I LOVE this shampoo because it is clear, doesn't leave a residue like other products and best of all it's sulfate free. I've also experimented with many products to keep my purple hair color from fading so quickly, but this is my shampoo of choice. I put 1/3 of the hair color my barber uses in a bottle, shake before each use and BOOM you have your own color shampoo that works great.
