Great spark plug for '97 4x4 3.4L Taco

Funny how Revain now says these spark plugs aren't for my truck. I have driven them for the last 30,000 miles and decided to replace them as I am doing other repairs (rebuilding the front after an accident a while back). The ones I replaced are still in good condition so I'll keep them "just in case". If you have a first generation 3.4L Taco 4x4, don't trust the Revain because they are great for that.

Pros
  • Special Drive
Cons
  • I vaguely remember

Best Spark for your TACO

My 2000 Tundra v6 3.4 had some hesitation when accelerating which got worse over a 30 day period. My check engine light came on which turned out to be a misfire on cylinder 1. Can't remember the last time I changed the spark plugs, but at 257,000 miles it won't hurt. I now have a smoother ride and of course better gas mileage (18.9mpg average). Will buy them for my wife 97 4runner with the same motor size.

Pros
  • Belt
Cons
  • Communication with Seller

Better performance for special drive

I've driven them about 500 miles and they seem to give my truck better performance. I completely tuned my 4Runner and ended up getting about 3mpg more than usual. I can't say if it's the platinum connectors. But if I make a different setup I will order a different set. Ease of installation. Straight out of the box onto the cylinder head. I also recommend ordering anti-seize and dielectric grease.

Pros
  • Belts, hoses and pulleys
Cons
  • Some trouble

Great plugs but check your rooms!

Ideal for Tacoma 3.4L V6 1st Gen and 3rd Gen 4Runner. The 5VZ-FE engine requires dual electrode spark plugs. The originals are copper and should be changed every 30,000 miles. Laser Platinum should last at least twice as long. The less I have to remove the intake manifold, the better! I will say the spark plugs were not properly adjusted when received. Make sure the gap between each electrode is 0.043 inch. I was all over 0.035 inches. NGK says they are matched to .044". The car runs very…
