FB Subaru engine swap.

Half price of Subaru part, EXACT same connector. ENSURE NOT TO USE ANTI-SEIZE ON THESE PLUGS, NGK uses a self-lubricating coating on the threads so no anti-seize is required.

Pros
  • Absolute Legend
Cons
  • Will be added later

Auto spark plugs didn't work.

Grommets will not fit plugs removed from vehicle. The ones I bought from the auto parts store after returning them did just that. LH came from Amazon. RH came from the auto shop and I got out the matching spark plugs. 2 photos of used plugs taken out of the car. Glad I didn't put them in my car.

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Socket required

Original equipment for Subaru Forester

This was the original equipment for my 2012 Subaru Forester. Old candles were in good condition after 100,000 km. I changed them myself, with a 14mm thin-walled magnetic swivel head, also from Revain. Thanks to the guy who made a YouTube video showing how to do it.

Pros
  • GOLS certificate
Cons
  • Small things

Looks almost exactly like the originals

I had my original 2013 Subaru Outback 2.5 spark plugs replaced for the first time at 107,500 miles. They worked fine. The new ones look the same except they don't have the word "JAPAN" engraved on them. Hopefully the new ones will be made in Japan. So far everything is working fine. I will report when the car has more kilometers.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • So So

Requires better quality control.

Needs better quality control. Bought 4. They were all sewn wrong. One of them misfired so I had to take the car to a mechanic to fix the problem. He said that one of the candles had a small crack in the ceramic case. I have never dropped a product. Guess they work if you're lucky, but weren't worth the hassle.

Pros
  • practical item
Cons
  • Definitely bad product

On the NGK website, these plugs are described as having "fine wire with platinum tipped on the ground electrode". The seller's ad says "Platinum washer welded to back of ground electrode, lifespan" and even shows a close-up of the ground electrode. I received the spark plugs with smooth ground electrodes. I have provided photos of what came out of my car next to what the seller provided. Not the same plugs. Why?

Pros
  • Best in niche
Cons
  • Empty

Same as factory spark plugs

These were the same spark plugs that I pulled from my Subaru. They ended up with a gap within the spec range (mine was about 0.041 inch). Subaru recommends changing every 60,000 miles (at least on my model) and I've changed about 62,000. The ones that came out weren't in bad shape, but they weren't like new either. Apart from overcoming the obstacles caused by the horizontal engine, they install easily and work like new again (at the same time I made an air intake filter). No complaints, $40 (4

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Minor issues

a 13 year old Subaru Outback with 75,000 miles with misfires and they differ from the factory models but I don't see any noticeable difference in performance. my misfires are gone, the mpg is where it was, so do your job. I will say as a shade tree mechanic that the gaps (all 4) were wrong for my application and certainly mismatched. I used some anti-seize on each one no matter what ngk does from the factory just to be on the safe side. The driver's side in the Outback is limited by groundโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Price
Cons
  • Almost never tuned

For Impreza 2.0 2012+ owners. . .

After 98,000 miles on my 12 year old Impreza Sport Premium I started looking at the recommended 100,000 miles. That's when I discovered that the recommended replacement interval for spark plugs is 60,000 miles (oops!). This is the exact model number that comes standard on this dependable little four wheeler and they install easily. Ignition coils and a 14 mm deep shaft, 2" extension and 3/8" ratchet for spark plugs. The rear driver's spark plug was the hardest for me due to the wiring harnesses

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • New competition is here
