At least 30% of these are torn in a pot or torn off the roll

We have been using these bags for many years and have had virtually no breakage problems but for some reason the quality has deteriorated. We've tried all sorts of methods to keep them intact (only put in soft foods, like old raspberries, don't fill the jar to put pressure on the sides, barely fill the pouch, etc.), but they still break. . . . When I first bought them, they didn't break as often in the pot as they do now, and most came out unscathed. We bought our last roll in December and I'm…

  • Doubt

Terrible; tear easily, do not compost in the garden or in the bins.

This is just awful. First, and this is misleading, they are advertised as "100% compostable" but when you receive the box you may (or may not) notice the fine print telling you they are non-compostable. In fact, they will NOT break down in the backyard compost or worm bin. Second, they're incredibly fragile even straight out of the box, and more than half of them were ripped lengthways just when trying to open them to put them in the bin. I have a precise, keen sense after decades of extremely…

Do not buy! for paper and plastic

I bought these with the Norpro compost bin and charcoal filters. I was composting in my garden thinking they were biodegradable and would make going from bucket to heap easier. First, they're dirty - so flimsy they rip and leak, never stay in the bucket and always go in the trash - who wants to lug down and out of there? You must use gloves and throw them away. I always use a stronger plastic bag to put under this liner. They're so flimsy that walking to the compost heap will tear them apart…

Pros
  • All right!
Cons
  • Requires base
