watermelon! at Specialty Tools & Gadgets

I originally bought this to make melon balls, but I've also used it as a spoon for eating mini watermelons. 🀣 Should have bought this many years ago!

Pros
  • New to my collection
Cons
  • No power

Also works for ice cream!

This "baller" is durable and comfortable. I use it to snack on watermelons straight from the fruit. I also use it for ice cream bites when the whole bowl is too big.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Not the best

Happy Hands: Kitchen Utensils and Gadgets

I can't believe I didn't get this sooner! We use an old melon press from the 70's. Our new EZ baler is so painless and comfortable to use, especially for my arthritic hands. Wonderful pen! Don't worry about slipping.

Pros
  • Lots of positive emotions
Cons
  • I have doubts

Beware of cheap metal - blade broke

Worked great at first but after a few months the metal broke in half and the head/blade broke off. I am very disappointed as I spent money on a cheap product. Would never buy this again.

Pros
  • Feels good
Cons
  • Sad technique

Good, but there is a downside.

This is a good product. The grip is great for work. However, one thing I didn't like is that when you pick the melon up, it tends to stick too tight. So if you want to put them in your bowl (or whatever) you have to shake them somehow. / push it out of the shoulder blade. The last one I had (another supplier) never did. That's why I only gave 4 stars, otherwise it would have been 5. That's why I can't recommend it.

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Expensive

Fancy Melon Ball left unused

I got this for some relief to make our melon salads prettier. Covid madness is real guys. In any case, it is difficult to make a melon ball. Many of them are elongated. For some reason the melon is difficult to roll up in the middle and we ended up losing a lot of the melon. I mean we ate it anyway, it just wasn't nice. The bells are about the size of a large block of marble, I believe that's what they're called. I think something bigger would be better. Or. Hey, maybe a regular old melon cube…

Pros
  • Dope πŸ”₯
Cons
  • Can I add something

More than a pony trick

Renowned guru and geek god AltonBrown says you shouldn't have disposable appliances in your kitchen. It seemed like the melon ball was in jeopardy on that basis, but I'm on a little crusade to tell the world not to discount the tiny scoop anytime soon. In fact, it's so useful that I recently wore out mine and had to replace it. Replacement - Norpro Grip-EZ Melon Baller with strong shaft and comfortable grip. Here are some shots of things I use it for regularly. 1) De-coring apples 2) Peeling…

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Available in black only
