Novelty Place Plastic Striped Containers Review

Not happy. One came with a corner chipped which made it sharp at that point and now the red striped paint on the others we used is peeling off right away. The red paint sticks to our fingers when we hold the container, which worried me about the kids eating this red stuff while eating popcorn. Unfortunately we throw them away. I don't know what's in that red and there's no chance of accidentally eating it as it will get on your fingers when you hold the container and eat the popcorn.

Bought these for a party but they were useless. First one of them broke. There was a note in the packaging that any broken containers would be replaced, but I found them all to be unusable. The containers in the photos have not yet been used or washed. The paint smeared off the containers just from handling. I initiated a product return but life was busy and I missed the window. I don't feel comfortable eating from these containers as you will most likely transfer color from the containers to…

I've had other brands that have held up well. The paint is a bit scratched over time, but otherwise everything is fine. I needed a few more containers so I ordered these. After a few uses, the red color on the outside started to melt on our hands. Will probably dissolve in some popcorn oil. It leaves containers of melted paint sticky and looks awful. I'm upset because my kids used them and licked the paint off their fingers! Needless to say, we're throwing them away now. I'll look for something

Update: The company contacted me about my disapproving review of the popcorn containers and apologized. They informed me that they must have accidentally sent a bad batch. They asked if they could send a replacement set. After receiving a replacement set, I washed them to check the color on the containers. It doesn't smudge and looks great. When they came out of the box I thought they were very cute and my boys were very happy to use them for family movie nights. However, when I washed them for the first time, the red color became very sticky and started to smear. The whole sink, full of dishes, turned out to be stained with red. Even after drying, the red still feels sticky. After three washes, half of the red patterns were gone.
