NuTone Central Vacuum Connect Electrified Review

They appear to be exactly the same as the ones that originally came with my Centec vacuum system. Didn't know it came in a pack of two which was a bonus. I now have a spare in case my nearest outlet fails. I've had this system for 11 years so I'm not surprised when the outlet goes out.

I bought this case to replace the originals I had at home 10 years ago. The bezel around is about 1/2 inch smaller. I think they saved 2 cents for less plastic. Someone has to frame it so you don't have to spend entire weekends patching and repainting walls to close the gap.

Used to replace one of our old central vacuums and it works like a charm! Easy to connect and easy to install. Comes with all the parts you need for rough work. Too bad you can't just buy an outlet cover, but it gives me an excuse to use a crude box down the stairs and add a new outlet.

I only needed the case, but of course it's not for sale in this form. When they boxed it up, with the back inserted into the lid, they stripped the black wire off as shown in the picture. SIGNIFICANT FIRE HAZARD. I shrink wrapped it instead of waiting for a refund but I'm NOT happy! Someone not noticing this would have a code violation and a hidden danger.

Our house was built in 1997. We've had a couple of these recently that started breaking and popping and one of the springs holding the door shut didn't work. Well, it ended up breaking, leaving the door open. I ordered them hoping they would be identical to the 1997 ones. That's how it is. Perfect fit, same size inside and out. The advantage of the new ones is that the rubber surrounding the hose is flexible and doesn't leak. I would definitely buy them again.

Works well. But when installing into an existing structure with 2x4 walls it is almost impossible to insert it through the opening in the wall if the faucet is glued first. The real deal! One of my vacuum plates broke and I bought a replacement locally. The problem is that the hose connection was very tight, so tight that I couldn't get the hose all the way into the wall and the plate came off when I pulled the hose out. I saw this product on Revain and it looked exactly like my original plate. Pictures can be deceiving but I decided to give it a try anyway.
