Do not buy this item.

This doesn't have Ublox original NEO-6M module, it's a Chinese clone, I mean you can get boards with original modules at the same price, don't skimp and don't get this

Pros
  • Normal price
Cons
  • Too long to wait

Awesome little GPS receiver with antenna

Awesome little GPS receiver. The external antenna is a nice bonus. It takes a while to acquire satellites, but it's very sticky once acquired (good thing). Works well with Arduino boards and Adafruit Feather.

Pros
  • Price
Cons
  • Some trouble

Much better than what I was working with

This replaces a much larger unit and has a much more sensitive reception than the previous one. A large one worked with an antenna on the roof. It installed in less than 5 minutes and I'm very satisfied. Many Thanks.

Pros
  • Pleasant to use
Cons
  • Style 90

Works with Raspberry Pi

I liked the fact that it includes both a USB and a 5V serial port. it adds a serial port to your computer and allows programs like minicom to see what's being broadcast. I was able to easily find the documentation on how to extract the $GPRMC NMEA sentence. This set contains time and latitude/longitude information for 1Hz. 1PPS output also works. I ended up passing a 5V serial signal and 1PPS signals to the Raspberry Pi Zero to provide an accurate time source.

Pros
  • Sleek Design
Cons
  • Factor Set

Powered by Raspberry Pi

It should be noted that I found instructions online that say the connection must be via GPIO pins and not microUSB. This required some soldering but I have the skills to do it. Instead of using the straight pins that came with it, I used some angled pins. Since I almost always SSH into my Pi using PuTTY, it currently displays raw data on the terminal interface. At least I know it works and can take the time to get to know it and decide what project I want to use it on later.

Pros
  • Fits many
Cons
  • Contact seller
