Only 3 shoes (size 7 for women) per shelf fit, so approx. 30 NOT 50. The material from which the shelf is made is not enough from the edge , allowing some shoes to hang down to the edge. The usable space is 19 inches. The width of the device itself is about 22 inches. The assembly instructions were a little hard to read on the cheaply printed sheet. This shelf is made of plastic and thin aluminum. Still useful for my purposes.

I love this product. Although it seemed a little flimsy at first, it could support all the weight if shoes were stored inside. I was looking for a solution for my very small wardrobe, where we also store shoes. After 5 years of searching, I decided on this shoe rack and am very satisfied.
