Odeums Outdoor Lantern Exterior Lighting Review

This wall light is almost exactly the same as the one that costs about $200. For this price you can't go wrong. That looks great. We had just installed new windows and doors and were looking for a simple transition light and this was a perfect fit. I expected it to arrive and look very cheap. It is not.

Fair product price - bought 4 in bulk (2 garages, 1 front door, 1 side door). The design of the fittings behind the glass railing has been done in the right style and hides the electrical box. The material is dark brown semi-gloss on a flat surface. All glasses arrived/shipped without damage. Glass panels are attached with thin screws - they could be stronger. Edison bulbs are used and look beautiful in a display case.

Probably to be expected for the price but the corners are not straight so the whole lamp looks crooked even though the sides are flat. At the bottom corners, some pages protrude further than the adjacent page, making the bottom look crooked. I can attach a photo for clarification. Not thrilled as I know they are even, they just don't seem to be due to poor construction. They're already hung so I'm not going back, but they suck and I'll probably be replacing them within the next year.

they are not square. As you can see in the attached photo, although the top and bottom are flat, the sides are slanted. It's about a rectangle, or rather a parallelogram. It doesn't look like it can be fixed somehow. In the second photo it is shown on the grid. The bottom edge snaps to the grid. You can see how tilted the instrument is along the long side. At around $35 each, the Odeums Outdoor Wall Light (2-pack) is definitely a bargain. However, for me this was a set to replace my old bronze (fuu) fixings on the front doors. I have already replaced the street lamps and gable lamps with similar ones, rectangular, black (with flat clear glass). The Odeums lanterns were the perfect complement, scaled down to fit in the front door. The lamps were originally sent to me in the wrong color (oiled bronze, not black) but the exchange went smoothly…
