Not suitable for Ford 3.8 V6 engine

Not suitable for Ford 3.8 V6, don't buy for it. Reading the reviews others said about it, I took a chance and it didn't work for my app.

This tool works well

I used this tool to pre-lube the engine after changing the oil pump. Fast and easy to use. Highly recommended after opening the oil system or for new buildings.

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • Only available in white

1998 3.8L Mustang V6

Unfortunately this tool is required to check the oil pressure after an engine overhaul. Worked great. Revved it up, oil pressure and oil circulated up through the motor and lift rods. Exactly what I needed.

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Minor problems

Worked great on a newly rebuilt engine

Worked great on a newly rebuilt engine. Before use, wrap a few turns of electrical tape around the shank at the end of the drill. Saves you a big headache when it slips past the oil pump hex shaft and falls into the oil pan.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • A few minor things

Exactly what you expect.

If you're looking at this product, you probably already know what you're looking for. I bought it to restore a 1983 Ford 460. Worked exactly as it should. The shaft is made of steel and the adjusting disc is made of aluminium. It won't be used much, but will last a long time after I'm gone.

Pros
  • 1 year trial
Cons
  • Slightly wrinkled

But works on SBF V-8.

I bought this to use on a Ford Windstar with a 3.8 liter engine. It will not work with this motor even if it has a proper 5/16 hex pump drive. The problem is that the 3.8 requires an Allen wrench to drive the pump directly, and this tool has an Allen wrench to mate with the V-8 SBF's oil pump drive shaft. I had to cut the end of a 5/16 hex wrench and epoxy it to the end of the tool. I also had to machine another adapter sleeve to fit the tool in the 3.8 access hole. In other words, it does not…

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
