Great console cable

I use this cable to connect my laptop to a network device (Kemp LoadMaster). Windows 10 recognized the new serial port immediately. Putty worked with him as expected. Very good cable.

Pros
  • Feels good
Cons
  • Expensive

Use only on 2.0 ports

This cable got me into the console of a Cisco switch. I didn't look closely at the port compatibility and the third time I plugged it into a 3.1 port which blew some capacitors on the USB side. My computer was fine, but the cable itself was broken.

Pros
  • Quality build
Cons
  • Corrupt

The Best Cable Among Computer Accessories and Peripherals

As a network engineer, I buy a lot of console cables. Defective clips and bent USB found. This one has lasted the longest so far. This is probably due to the loose clip. I'm still careful when I'm working and not just tossing it in my bag. But the best so far. I would definitely buy again but hopefully with a USB C connection.

Reliable cable, good value for money

I used this cable to connect my Ubiquiti EdgeRouter to my laptop to access the console. The serial device immediately appeared on my laptop as /dev/ttyUSB0 and I used picocom to communicate with the router console. Everything worked without any problems. The cable also appears to be fairly solid, with good strain relief on the connectors.

Pros
  • Certified
Cons
  • Some minor things

Extremely happy with computer accessories and peripherals

I've been using the Keyspan USA-19HS for more than 10 years and while it still works perfectly, there are no drivers available for recent versions of macOS so I'm without a usable adapter. Not to mention it's been held together with tape over the last 5+ years due to heavy use and a few falls onto tile floors in data centers. I was looking for a new cable that would be compatible with the devices I need. Access and availability of current macOS drivers. I found it and couldn't be happier.

Pros
  • Large selection
