Every year my children get a new Christmas decoration. My son loves music and recites his own poems that he has written so this is the perfect decoration for him. This is not only an ornament, but also a sentimental peace that is added to the tree every year.

I ordered this for my eldest daughter who started learning cello this year. The idea is to give my kids a piece of glass every year that they can take with them when they grow up. I ordered ballet flats for my youngest daughter and they are just as well made.

For my teenage niece who plays the flute. Beautifully made and stunning to look at, but feels fragile. I hope her sisters are careful and she keeps this away from her little brother. Expensive but I think she will like it. Too bad there was a hook for decoration.

The maker is a respected Washington DC company, one of the last factories in the US to "handcraft" these old-fashioned glass ornaments. You'll pay more for this handcrafted piece, but consider it a collector's item or a luxury item for yourself or other musicians.
