It helps with accuracy, easier to press/hold as the ruler doesn't bend and protects my hand. I'm very, very happy with the addition to my lineup. Edit: My sister never thought of getting one until she used mine. :-)

I love these guards. I am a busy quilter and seamstress and use a lot of circle cutters. This allows me to quickly cut into strips without worrying about cutting myself like I have in the past. Razor cuts are certainly not good, especially when those cuts can be very deep. I cut two pieces and cut off the long side of the blade and used the smaller end as a handle. Love it. This is a high quality piece of plastic and once I get the hang of it I'm sure it will be comfortable to use. I can't give fewer stars due to my ignorance, but I'm sure when I have time I'll figure out how to use it properly. Right now this is a great line for everything I do.

Finally got the sign and I put it on as you said in your instructions when it's on. Haven't used it yet but had a chance to test it and now I really like that my hand/fingers are safe with this shield. Thanks for such a good product. Maybe someday make a smaller one for 12 inch rulers.

I love these shields. They are discreet, not bulky like some, and very easy to use. I don't have to look for a separate element to use, it's already there. I use them on all my lines and most of them last forever. On the ruler that I use almost every day, the screen started to come loose and there was lint between it and the ruler. I removed the protective shield and hand sanded the ruler until the adhesive residue was gone, then reattached the new protective shield. Everything was like new.
