Unnecessary skepticism - great for a Ryzen processor!

Ram worked as expected. Completely plug and play without messing around with settings in BIOS. After searching the forums and hearing countless people mention that they are too scared to try this RAM because it is so cheap, I decided to be the one to try. Well it paid off. . $100 cheaper than the next 64GB kit, it works as expected.

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Hard to tell

Waste of money - internals

Needed some RAM for a very basic bedroom HTPC to stream media from my home NAS. I soon decided that this cheap thing would do. But after only working for about 10 minutes, the screen randomly turned off. After a bit of troubleshooting, I ran the Windows memory diagnostics, which informed me that there were hardware errors in the memory. As a side note, the storage also struggled to run at advertised speeds. So if you get a working set of RAM, you can forget about it.

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • New competition has arrived

Excellent performance, excellent value for money

I was very skeptical about buying from Oloy as I had never heard of this brand before and it is not that well established compared to other major memory manufacturers. However, based on the positive reviews and the fact that this 64GB RAM kit is almost $100 cheaper compared to the mainstream brands, I gave it a try. Enabling XMP 2.0 in the BIOS got it running at 3200MHz with no issues, but I couldn't get it to overclock to a frequency above that speed. When playing, streaming and editing 4kโ€ฆ

Sending the wrong frequency with my motherboard

I assembled a new computer and made sure it was compatible with the motherboard I bought "ASRock X570 Phantom Gaming 4AM4 / USB3.2 / HDMI / RJ45 Motherboard". both RAM are inserted and the computer does not start. Pulled out a stick and finally booted into the bios. I saw that the RAM in the bios shows wrong settings, so I tried to tweak it. The changes didn't persist across reboots and I couldn't get both sticks working at the same time after trying to use multiple slots. Had to return theโ€ฆ

RAM daemon created by Satan

Update: Even at 1600Mhz I had intermittent crashes. Sometimes I could work under load for several days, sometimes opening multiple apps resulted in BSOD. Today the computer failed to fully boot. I replaced the RAM with another brand, problem solved. I will not buy OLOy again. I bought 4 x 32GB 3200MHz. I installed it with the default settings and had intermittent freezes and BSOD issues. I finally determined that it was this RAM. It is sold as 3200MHz, shows up as 2133MHz in the BIOS and doesโ€ฆ

Cons
  • Lots of stuff

So far so good for the internals

Not a bad memory as far as I can tell. I really needed XMP to clock the modules at 3200. Not sure which component is to blame, but prior to user intervention they were running at 2666MHz. It was a component I've "approved" so far, so I didn't have super high expectations. really needed after paying the $500 ebay markup for my computer and graphics card. I can see if I can get better memory benchmarks by increasing the XMP clock speed, changing the timing, etc., but for now it's fine for gaming.

Pros
  • Pleasant to use
Cons
  • Upgradable

64GB Kit - Overclock Beast

Like most, I was a bit skeptical about ordering these kits because of their low price. I used 2 sets of 64GB 3200 MT/s for 2 different builds. First, if you don't know what XMP is, you probably aren't allowed to install RAM sticks at all. XMP worked absolutely perfectly in both settings. Totally stable at 16-20-20-40. A little slack, but fast enough for a 64GB bundle out of the box. Second, for anyone wondering, the chips in these kits (at least in both kits I received) are Micron B crystalsโ€ฆ

  • Short Instructions

Plug and Play - Internal components

Works perfectly. Running is quite difficult for several months. Premium memory Quality memory without brand tax. As I suspected, 64 would not be enough for me, so I ordered 2 more 32GB sticks. 3200MHz is a great speed. The fault, dear Brutus, is not in our stars but in ourselves, in not understanding computers. this memory is great. If your motherboard is in the detection/configuration state, it's fortunate, as has been pointed out many times, that many need to enable XMP in the BIOS since itโ€ฆ
