Band saw blades welded incorrectly

I am surprised by the poor quality. I have had good experiences with Olson groups. I don't know what happened on it. You didn't align the tape properly before welding. For Revain Customer Service: I'm tired of returning things in my free time. People should get compensation when they return faulty goods.

Pros
  • So far so good
Cons
  • Poorly thought out

Great band saw blade

This is an amazing saw blade. Yesterday I tested it sawing and grinding Mesquite, Texas Blackjack, Sugarberry, Black Walnut, Cedar and Red Oak into wine cork blanks, handle blanks and bowl blanks. I put in about 6 1/2 hours on this and this blade shows no signs of dulling. Very happy with this purchase and will probably only buy this blade in the future.

Pros
  • Perfect for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Can't remember

Fantastic band saws.

I use these in a small hobby sawmill that was built from a 12" Delta band saw. I used Powertec 3TPI blades and cut through about 40 linear feet of 12" wet hardwood logs before the blade became too dull to cut. These Olson blades will successfully go 100 LF or more on the same stock before needing replacement. I sawed regularly for a whole year until I found a saw blade I really liked and this is it. customer for life.

Pros
  • Quality Construction
Cons
  • Damaged

Very economical saw blade

I raised my Delta model from the 50's so I could cut thin sections for construction tools. I bought this and a set of Timberwolf Blades for the same purpose. I happened to pick it up first and I have to say I'm impressed. It doesn't seem to have any problem with the voltage used and leaves a very nice clean finish. Once properly tensioned, drifting is no problem. I could easily cut 1/8" thick slabs of cherry and walnut that were 8" wide.

Pros
  • An absolute legend
Cons
  • Working speed

Good for sawing up to 4 inches but not at all for sawing lumber.

This blade is suitable for cutting thicker material at least 4 inches thick, but don't expect to undercut more than 4 inches. I've found that they don't stay sharp when I use other blades. This blade has carbon steel teeth while high quality saw blades use silicon steel which is much harder. I was able to easily saw through a few small boards with this blade, but sawing large pieces of wood just doesn't cut it with this blade.

defect out of the box.

My blade wobbled quite a bit. Tried a million things and figured it couldn't be a brand new blade that was bad. I balanced the wheels, changed the tires, checked the tension three times. However, it wobbled. I chose a Highland Woodworking utility knife and my saw worked like a sewing machine. Put the blade back in place and the wobble is back. I cannot recommend them. They're cheap for an American-made blade and the Prime is good, but it didn't work out in the end. If you need a blade, save…

Doesn't cut straight, good for power and hand tools

After installation I turned on the band saw and heard a loud noise. I thought the guide bearing wasn't working. I tried the cut and got an uneven cutting width, about four times the thickness of the blade. I slowly turned the wheels and watched the unevenness of the blade. It turned out that the blade flexes in the common area of the weld, causing it to wobble as that section passes the guide bearings. The result is a frayed oversized cut and what appears to be noise in the guide bearings…

Good saw blade for discs

I only bought this to saw. This worked very well on a green tree I had. So far I've only used it on workpieces up to 8 inches thick. I have a cheap port freight that I added a jack block to cut to 12 inches. I was worried that this wouldn't make a good cut. Can't comment on the durability of this blade, I had it not long ago but I mostly just cut for ukuleles and guitars so while it won't last very long it's worth it. The pieces I cut would be very expensive to buy pre-cut. The ability to use…

Great blade at a great price

This was one of the few blades I ordered to try a cheaper alternative to Wolf wooden blades. The wooden wolf blades I had were great, but a bit pricey, and after sawing my 1/4" Knack through a 2 foot section of 6x6 cedar, I decided to use this inexpensive 1/2" Tried customs for such work and the first real use of the project was as a nativity scene for my church to replace one that was lost during the flood. Aside from the plywood base, it was made by sawing the same 6x6 as the 1/4" blade and…
