A defective, intermittent heat

One of the light bulbs is defective. The other heats up but doesn't stay warm all the time. I liked the thermostat. recommend. I should have gotten something else.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Only available in black

Ceramic heating pad, great change from heat lamps.

I decided to replace a couple of heat lamps with these and they do exactly what I need! My snake loves extra warmth without extra brightness. The temperature sensor also works flawlessly and is easy to place exactly where it is needed.

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Not sure

You did the job! for reptiles and amphibians

I recently built a large enclosure for my zebra finches (76 heads) and added two heat lamps to keep them warm on our cold Arizona nights. They love them and float next to them every night. I am very happy with your product. The extra thermometer was a nice bonus. Tom Messner

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Almost everything is fine

Unreliable stuff

I plugged it in and the first bulb worked, although after a week I was wondering why my bearded dragon (Prince) was behaving differently, the bulb went out. I don't know how much time has passed since then. So I put another one in and two days later it stopped working. You should keep a close eye on these bulbs and your pets. Although it was a good idea.

Pros
  • Great for outdoor activities
Cons
  • High price

Cheap long life lamps

I use them in several of my reptile enclosures. In 9/10 cases they last more than 6 months and arrive very well packaged. I have ordered many times and only had one fault which was replaced by the manufacturer. That's a great price and I will continue to order these instead of buying overpriced reptile lights from the pet store that usually blow out within a month.

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • Poor guidance

Perfect for chicks

This type of heat source seems more recommended for chicks than a lightbulb. I have ordered both. I tried these first. It worked so well that I never tried the red lightbulb. I hung the lamp on the top of the incubator which is 4 feet by 3 feet and 2 feet high. 22 babies were quite happy to sleep under it. As they got older I increased the lamp position to keep them from overheating. Definitely recommend.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • I'll add later

Works as it should

Gives off some heat just not as much as I need. I use them for dog kennels in the winter. But the houses aren't insulated so heat doesn't really accumulate/retain. They are very durable and heat up when touched. They direct heat forward so the light doesn't get hot. Even with a 150 watt lightbulb, the plastic igloo didn't get too hot, and the light was just a cage. Overall, I just don't recommend for higher heat needs.

Pros
  • Best in its niche
Cons
  • Hard to tell
