Enhance Your Jeep's Speedometer with Omix-Ada 17206.05 Speedometer Cluster for 80-86 Jeep CJ5/CJ7/CJ8 Review

The speedometer arrived with light directing elements loose inside. I didn't want to take it apart to fix it and annul the war. so i returned it. I will give my original for repair.

I was shocked at how poor the quality of this item was - straight out of the box! The front panel with the printed numbers dangled and wobbled, inside you could hear the rattling of parts and fixtures. I just hope I can find another replacement speedometer for my jeep. This is very discouraging!

The speedometer works well. Lighting is dim but acceptable. The fuel gauge only reads 3/4 and the temp gauge doesn't move. The 4 wheel light doesn't block completely and the gauge lights shimmer in all the time leaving it dimly lit. As a result, they installed a capillary temperature sensor and an external fuel gauge installed under the dashboard. Looks nice, but that's where all the positive comments end. Installed in 81 CJ5. Odometer not working. the speedometer never went to zero, started at 5 km/h, now stops at 15. the gas meter doesn't work and the lightbulbs hardly fit in their sockets. absolutely rubbish. Update: The seller usually emails me and asks me to remove my feedback. Offer me anywhere from $40 to $50 to get it done. This week I received an email offering a full refund. I said no and left it alone. The next day I received an email saying they would give me $40. that's a shady outfit don't buy!

Schematic of this part does not match the actual part. The diagram shows two terminals for the fuel gauge, I and S. The part has three, I, S and A. The diagram shows terminal I connected to the temperature gauge with a jumper. The actual part has connection A with a temperature sensor. The diagram shows that the 12V input needs to be connected with a jumper connection. When I connected 12V to the jumper connection, the part started to smoke. I bought this to replace my old one. Everything looked fine and all the gauges worked after a few months of use, the fuel level and temperature gauges stopped working. I thought I had a wiring issue, but after troubleshooting I got signals from both the fuel tank and the temp sensor. I tested my country and it was good.
