It would probably be a good product if someone who really understood how it works wrote an English manual for it. I've dealt with broken English manuals for over 50 years, but this brochure is the worst Chinese translation I've ever seen. When I used the device, I could tell that the motherboard wasn't working - I already knew that, but I was hoping this thing would tell me what the problem was. I had to throw it away with the motherboard.

This little device proved to be very helpful when I was trying to figure out what was wrong with an old PC! . I went online and got a copy of the manual for this device which was very helpful. You really need it to understand all sorts of codes.

I wasn't paying attention. Very difficult to use, especially when the motherboard is mounted in a case. The letters in the manual are so small that it is very difficult to read. I regret the purchase and do not recommend it

This product works very well. This is very useful when your computer is set to silent boot and you cannot access the BIOS of the computer you are having trouble with. If your motherboard has an open PCI slot, this will help you diagnose the problem. It also includes a guide that lists some of the most popular BIOS manufacturer codes and what they mean. An added value is the included screen extension for those times when you can't see the numbers on the board itself.

It is important to note that most modern BIOSes do not send a POST code to a standard I/O address. This change happened around the time PCIe replaced PCI, so there are motherboards with PCI slots that don't show anything useful on that card. It worked for me on a Socket 939 board but not on an AM2 board. However, on older (and legacy) systems, these cards are a very handy tool. When it was first plugged into the PCI slot, one of the logic circuits on the board sparked and melted. I thought I followed the instructions correctly but they are almost impossible to read. I'm not sure if the product was connected incorrectly or if I melted the card as I couldn't understand the instructions. Fortunately, the computer was not damaged. I wouldn't touch him with a 10 foot pole.

My experience was the same as the other one star reviewers. The product almost caught fire. I had several tools for POST plugins. My last one was gone so I needed another. Very poor build quality. This is the second of three diagnostic tools I got my husband for his birthday and it has already paid off. One of the systems my husband built had problems, which usually means the motherboard has to be sent back to the manufacturer for testing or a replacement. He was able to test and diagnose the problem fairly quickly and then fix the problem. He loves the ease of use with the digital display that he can read.
