My favorite is home textiles

I've been using this stuff for years, so many great uses. I've only used it to remove adhesive from an old non slip stair tape on my front steps. The old glue has been completely removed without damaging the (latex) painted steps. There aren't many solvents that do this. I also love how it removes hardened grout and cleans a lot of crap off my hands and arms. The bottle is very long lasting and will last me for years.

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Too long to wait

WONDER! - Household chemicals

Impressive. I had a thick discolored grout around the tub. I sprayed it on, waited a few hours and took it all off very easily. I applied fresh sealer to remove residue after wiping with Clorox wipes and used a fan to ensure the surfaces were really dry. Looks like a new bathroom. Just be careful not to splatter rubber gaskets or washers as this will make them brittle, deformed and too soft to use.

Pros
  • Easy installation
Cons
  • Wrinkled packaging

Didn't help to loosen old bathroom sealant

Based on other reviews I had high hopes for this product but it didn't seem to do much to help loosen my old bathroom sealant. I managed to get a bunch of sealant off before it arrived in the mail and I was hoping it would make the rest of the job easier. Unfortunately no luck. I ended up using some small needle nose pliers and wire cutters to remove the old caulk, which seemed to work so much better than all the other specialty caulk removal tools and products! Even if it was still hard work

Pros
  • Large selection
Cons
  • Empty

Good product for all purpose cleaners

I used to use WD40 to remove tape etc. Contractors Solvent is just as good (perhaps better) for this purpose, and I find . cheaper in volume. In any case, you still need to apply some elbow grease. Remember that glue, caulk, etc. are not designed to give up easily. Also, there are (I think) other products that are more effective at removing old, stuck sealant. I recommend using Contractors Solvent to clean tools and surfaces of fresh adhesive resin, sealant and the like.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • I won't say anything

Worked on with various swabs

I'm re-caulking the bathroom to prevent leaks, get rid of old moldy sealant, keep bugs out etc. This orange sol did an amazing job of softening the old sealant which let it loose easily remove. . I followed the advice I saw in another review and sprayed it on several times over the course of a few hours and left overnight, but I also used it as needed during a project and sometimes left it on for a few minutes . I then used clear silicone, white brushable silicone, grout and black sticky roof…

Silicone caulk removal

I finally found out how easy it is to remove silicone caulk from bathroom tiles. I spray the solvent on the seal about once an hour for three to four hours. Eventually the seal will begin to crack and peel off in long strips. Carefully scrape off any leftovers. You can also rinse the solvent off the tile with warm water so it won't be as oily when you remove the grout. When I first used the product I sprayed it on and immediately started scratching - it was labor intensive - the sealer was hard

THE BEST ON THE MARKET!

This is the FIRST product of this type that I have used and it actually does what it says on the tin. 100% removes silicone residues from fiberglass. Extremely important as NOTHING will stick to the remnants of the old silicone, including the new silicone. It worked so well I tried it on a white shirt with a stain that looked like metal rust. No product I've tried made a difference. De Solv removes it completely in one wash! I read somewhere that it was originally developed for use in an…

nuclear power! to household items

I've considered buying a regular strength solvent, but I always like to use dynamite when I'm solving a big mess. I bought Contractor's De-Solv-it thinking I could always dilute the strong stuff with water, but I couldn't make the regular version stronger. I make a lot of candles and occasionally spill a jar of wax on the kitchen floor. I've tried all types of name brand cleaners without much success, but this solution cleans everything without much physical effort. I don't do wax disasters…

Works as advertised!

I had to remove the old construction glue from the wooden floor pieces so I could glue them back on. Clay was about 15 years old and hard as a rock. This product was amazing! The top coat began to soften within minutes of application. I scraped off the top layer and then sprayed again and left overnight. The next day when I went to remove the glue, it turned into putty and just slid off the old wood. I've since used it to clean a very dirty wire shelving unit and a window with dried sticky…
