Orei Extender UltraHD Single Control Review

Combination of various video signals from 720P to 4K (HDMI switch output), communication works very well. 4K HDR works flawlessly. The only resolution I've had trouble working with is using an Apple TV 4K with Dolby Vision. I'm not sure if it doesn't pass through 4:4:4 or not. Additional investigations are required. Overall I'm happy with it.

I needed several of these to extend some HDMI channels for security monitors in my business. They work GREAT! Straight out of the box, no problems. The only slight confusion: both blocks have a power connection, but there is only one power supply. But you can just turn on both ends (I powered the transmitter) and the other end will be powered through the CAT cable. Great performance - great price.

Update: 6/5/2020 was 5 stars. It has a little bit of static and the HDMI has been updated so it's annoying and still is, but the most annoying thing is the audio cuts out for a few seconds every few minutes. I would hate to return this because I spent so much installing ports and ethernet. Good product. I wish it was a lot cheaper, don't know why it's so expensive, but it works really well. Can't say it's worth the money unless you're rich, but it works as advertised.

I use this to watch DirecTV in my bedroom with HDMI2 or my Denon receiver. (In fact, I can watch any source from my living room). It works exactly as expected with a nice picture and sends my IR signal out of the bedroom to control my DirecTV receiver. My only request would be that it has a 3-way IR splitter so it can control the Xbox UHD drive and AV receiver. I installed a brand new 65" Samsung QLED TV above my fireplace where there were no cable connections. Don't get me wrong, this device suits me. However, this doesn't seem to be working as advertised. I cannot support 60Hz in 4K resolution. I need to lower it to 50Hz for a stable picture. 1080p is also unstable at 120Hz. I need to lower the frequency to 100 Hz. Extension works well, picture quality is good, no flickering or dropouts that I haven't noticed yet. What's particularly annoying is that if the computer goes to sleep and the display turns off, it won't wake up when the computer wakes up. I have to physically turn the transmitter off and on again, then the screen wakes up.
