It came needing assembly which would have been difficult for me, but my boys are good at such things and it went together fairly quickly and easily. Seems sturdy and large enough for my purpose, so that's okay. I don't have room for anything larger on my desk. What I do NOT like is the visible hardware holding this together. I wasn’t expecting to put this together. The diagram of the pieces was microscopic, even with my lighted magnifying glass. As a result, I put a piece upside down and had to backtrack to take it out a few steps later. The screws aren’t flush with the fake wood (not wooden—misrepresented in the description). Since it’s not real wood, you get what looks like cardboard edges (maybe because it is, in essence). I’m debating on keeping it because it doesn’t look nearly as good as the picture.

I have no complaints about this organizer. I have put together a large number of furniture items but have never seen one like this. The pieces are so thin that they have cut out notches for the screws to go into. I was a little nervous but it assembled well and full of pens and markers seems sturdy.I have this sitting on top off a small bookcase so the top of it is above my head. I like that it's a good size for Pitt brush markers (5 1/2" long) and Micron pends (6 1/2" long). My Tombow markers just fell out (7 1/2" long). It solved three problems I had on my tiny desk: (1) how to store the Pitts and Microns, (2) getting my glue sticks and tape dispensers out of the way but still handy and visible, and (3) getting my miscellaneous pens, pencils, and erasers into a drawer. A good value for the price, even though it's a little flimsy.

I bought this to organize the pens I use for hand lettering. I was nervous this would be a nightmare to assemble but it probably took me 30-45 minutes when all was said and done. I will say getting a few of the screws in perfectly was a challenge and a couple of mine are in at a bit of an angle (the angled #6 pieces were particularly difficult), but I would say I got 90% of them in straight and I'm not concerned it will cause an issue. Yep the screws it comes with are too big (nice free screwdriver though) and with even with the 12 or so drawer of screws and things I have, I had one that "might" have worked, but I am pretty sure even it would have split the wood. No reason you can't use glue, takes a little longer, because you want step A to have time to dry before you go to step B. That is a big part of the reason it took me so long to review. When assembling this product myself I found some trouble getting the pieces to fit into each other before screwing. So with the help of a nail file, I was able to fit the drawer together. Other than that problem with the drawer piece, the rest of the pieces fit together nicely. Watch out for the screwdriver that comes with the screws I found it hard to use. So make sure to have your own if you don't want to have an aching thumb. I made it work and it looks nice.

The assembly method is interesting, easy, but I enlisted my husband's help. I had misidentified 2 pieces so if course they wouldn't fit. I would suggest they use clear, removable stickers to identify each piece. Would also suggest they put the instructions on a full size 8 1/2" x 11" paper. Would make the photos easier to see. After assembling it holds my art pens quite nicely. So I am pleased with this nice but inexpensive desk stand.

This was definitely harder to assemble than I expected it to be, it took me about an hour and a couple of hand cramps. The screws are also a LOT more prominent in real life than they are in the product photos, if you’re planning to buy two of these and put them next to each other they won’t be flush because of the bumpy screws. I was very doubtful when this arrived unassembled in the box and up until some of the last steps in the directions. Now that it is finished and I have filled it with my supplies, I’m slightly impressed that it has done the job. It is not super sturdy but it does a pretty good job at holding a lot of supplies for such a small little thing. I like that other reviewer’s reference to it being like the ‘little engine that could’.

PROS: It actually fit most of what I was hoping it would.CONS: Listing photos are misleading. It's quite a bit smaller than I thought it would be. Also shows with flathead screws.but what came are very bulky screws that stick out. The back panel was cut wrong so I had to modify in order to assemble it. Lastly the drawer doesn't even close.Overall it's OK. Not great.not even sure it's worth $20. So I am pretty disappointed.

Note that this is small; about 9 inches wide, 13 inches tall, 6 inches deep. The screws go into slots and are not intended to be unscrewed more than once or twice, so follow directions closely. Also, the screws are visible on the front drawer and sides, perhaps it adds to the charm. If you are super into puzzles then this is the product for you! There is a single sheet of instructions that are easy to follow but if you mess up on step 2 you want realize until step 7 and you’ll have to start over.After completion, I have 3 left over screws and two random pieces not in the directions at all. they are in the pics. I have a ton of pencils, pens, markers, highlighters, gels, etc. all taking up room in coffee cups with broken handles on my desk. This seemed like a perfect solution to organize them all and stack them vertically instead of more cup clutter. I would have rated it higher if not for the bate-and-switch product description. This setup IS NOT wood! It's paper/fiberboard with a wood decal print. It's also smaller than it appears in the photos, but that's on me for not reading the dimensions. The pens and markers in the photos aren't real. They are photoshop'd in.Only positive was it's cute and easy to put together.

This is the coolest little gig that this guy is making! I had a little difficult putting it together, but I'm old and tired! I ended up enjoying the puzzle completion likeness! It was a little over priced for a put together yourself thing, but, the lazers used to cut these aren't cheap either. I'd like to try another from this line. Very creative design!

Cheap and small. Okay if you know you won't be hard on it. Maybe better for a child than an adult? I don't know, it's fine. I'm using it but I would never buy again.

I have a lot of brushes, but they are hard to find and use when they are in the box. This Pencil Holder looks small but it can hold it very well. All my paintbrushes fit in and there is still a holder. The only downside is probably that the screws don't twist very well. But I would consider buying one to hold my markers.

I ordered this knowing it was un assembled as I wanted to paint the wood for my own design. It's a fun diy for those who want something custom in their workspace. It's easy to put together and it is sturdy (though this depends on how well you build the organizer)
