Comes in a plastic bag and a universal box, so it's not the best packaging if it's a gift. The front wheel doesn't touch the ground like it should, I don't know why. Works well outdoors on a hard smooth surface, not so indoors on carpet but my son still loves it, he just pushes with his feet. I'm glad I finally found a car suitable for a 5 year old as everything else is made for younger kids.

This unit is good value but fits our two toddlers, 6 and soon to be 8 years old. This is a really nice design and the kids will have fun. I'm impressed that it works without any pedals or gears failing. The child simply turns the steering wheel back and forth and off you go. On our back porch, it drives fast and maneuvers easily. Both love it. But the carpet is not very good. My granddaughter wore it outside in our driveway and really is out and about in it.

Son LOVES it and drives like a champ. It took him about 18 months to have a toy to drive around the house. It's impressive how skillfully he turns and stops now at 2.5 years old. I can even ride him myself and "run" while he rides the other little toy train he has and it's not exactly the most comfortable seat for me as my legs are too long for it, but it doesn't feel like it . like it's about to break under me and it works great!

We open it on Christmas Eve and there's no steering wheel in the box! Not to mention the damage to the machine itself. I'm so frustrated - should have double checked all parts were there when I received it but didn't want my kids to find out. I've ordered a replacement, but it won't arrive until after Christmas. Very disappointed with the quality of delivery and the lack of parts. It's also a very fun toy - I'm sure my son will love it.

We bought this for our 2 year old grandson. It was easy to assemble and very well made. He started by holding onto the steering wheel and moving with his feet. After a few days, he learned to get around by turning the steering wheel back and forth. It is very well made and durable. It is rated at 220 pounds. My wife drove it with our grandson which helped him settle in. A lot of fun and it's something that takes a long time to grow out of. I definitely recommend it.

Anyone else missing parts? Received our package 3 days ago and started collection today. Very disappointed with the instruction manual as it does not list the "nut" and "washer" required for the steering shaft. The Plasma Car website shows the "assembly" video but they don't even show it! what happened to it You should have a nut and washer to connect the steering wheel to the bolt. Just got this for my 3 year old son for Christmas yesterday. As others have suggested, I purchased polyurethane commuter wheels for a smoother ride in and out of the house. When I opened the box, the first thing I did was open a YouTube video and watch how to change the wheels before fully assembling the plasma car and it only took me about 5 minutes. Attention, only works on a narrow range of surfaces. A misleading description on this critical subject. When it works, it's just fantastic. On the concrete floor, this is one of my son's favorite toys. He's already physically too big for him, but he still drives a lot.
