Great for clay

I bought these for use with soft clay in hand building. They are perfect for that. I found the gray rubber tips to be the softest and that's what I needed. I have the blue tip and the black tip, both are harder and work well on hard leather but not soft clay.

Pros
  • Soft Tips 1/4" wide x 1/2" long Point, Angle Chisel, Flat Chisel, Cup Chisel, Cup Chisel
Cons
  • Not sure

Definitely not hard

I bought these to use with oil pastels. They have been described as solid. Definitely not - very malleable. They are very well made, that's why I'm giving them 2 stars. Unfortunately, only Revain Extra Firm Color Shaper has an additional cost for UK postage, not the free Revain Prime postage.

Pros
  • Great for oil painting, pastel loops and ceramic sculpture
Cons
  • Damaged

depends on what you use them for

I wouldn't use them on clay except for smoothing soft clay. They're too soft to withstand such sustained pressure and you'll probably ruin them sooner than you'd like! If you're looking at them because you want to use them for drawing or painting, they're great! These are the softest color formers I have and they are very good for the price and what you get. The rubber feels very smooth and flexible, the quality probably won't allow it to last as long as the more expensive brands so I would…

Pros
  • Includes 5 rubber grips
Cons
  • Some little things
